Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly held talks with Fenerbahce ahead of a possible summer move.

The Lowdown: Possible Bielsa successors named

Bielsa and Leeds are used to dealing with 12-month contracts at Elland Road, and now is the time of year where his future is being spoken about in the media.

Recent reports have name-checked Ernesto Valverde, Jesse Marsch and Carlos Corberan as possible successors to the Argentine, who has had to deal with numerous injury issues in his Leeds squad this season.

The Whites have struggled to replicate their first season back in the Premier League and are now flirting with the relegation zone with 15 games remaining, and shock reports have emerged ahead of their clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Latest: Meeting held

According to both Sabah and Fotomac, relayed by Sports Witness, Bielsa has held a meeting with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc.

The Leeds boss is thought to be on a list of candidates to take over in Turkey in the summer alongside Joachim Low, Jorge Jesus and Roger Schmidt.

The Verdict: Unlikely

As Phil Hay mentions, Bielsa is unlikely to show his hand in regards to his future until the Premier League is over, so these reports of a meeting with another club are hard to believe.

His time in Yorkshire may well be coming to an end this year, but until that is decided by all involved, it’s crazy to think he will be lining up his next move.

Hopefully, Bielsa will be able to get key players back over the coming weeks and drag the club clear of the relegation zone, cementing his legacy as a Leeds legend in the process.

The Verdict: Big loss?

As Bentancur, who shone at the 2018 World Cup, reportedly makes his way to N17, we believe Amrabat isn’t exactly a big loss despite former Palermo sporting director Rino Foschi calling him a ‘bargain’ player.

As the alternative, Bentancur has averaged an impressive 2.8 tackles per 90 in the Champions League this season, the joint-most out of any Juventus player in the competition (WhoScored), and we think it is clear that the Uruguay international is a more than adequate choice for Conte’s midfield.

وقال عبد القادر في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “أون تايم سبورتس”: “أشكر اللاعبين، نحن من أول يوم في حالة تركيز، لا نمزح كثيرًا ولا نتحدث كثيرًا، نحن خسرنا الكأس منهم وكان لابد أن نتوج بالسوبر”.

ويلتقي مانشستر سيتي وليستر غدًا السبت في تمام الواحدة والنصف ظهرًا “بتوقيت القاهرة”.

يأمل ووكر وفيليبس في اللحاق بكأس العالم الذي ينطلق في نوفمبر المقبل بقطر، وأشار جوارديولا: إنهما إيجابيان ومتفائلان، وهما على اتصال بجاريث ساوثجيت (مدرب إنجلترا)، آمل أن يكونا مستعدين ليتم اختيارهما”.

1. Por lesões, saídas e outros fatores, 2017 não terminou como a torcida desejava. O que está sendo feito para este ano ser diferente?

O torcedor precisa se acostumar, pois verá um Fluminense diferente. Essa equipe vai competir mais do que vai jogar. Meu time jogava, corria e não competia. O sinônimo de competir, no futebol, é duelar. Meu time duelou pouco. Talvez não tenha o brilhantismo do primeiro semestre do ano passado. Estamos buscando, dentro dessa nova filosofia do clube, algo realmente novo na forma de se jogar a nível de futebol brasileiro.

2. O elenco passou por uma grande reformulação de 2017 para cá. O quanto essas mudanças atrapalham a sequência do trabalho?

Queira ou não, pode chegar a oito o número de jogadores que eram titulares e não estarão mais. Vocês acham que eu estou preocupado com isso, que eu estou perdendo meu sono, que estou aborrecido, chateado? Eu estou otimista, como sempre estive, e quero que meu torcedor tenha isso.

3. Diante de todas notícias ruins envolvendo o clube, como trazer a torcida para junto dos jogadores?

Meus jogadores sabem que para termos esse apoio e para o torcedor sentir essa confiança, algo precisa ser feito de maneira diferente. E será feito. Esse ano vai ser melhor.

وتحدث بنزيما عن مشاعره بعد الفوز بالكرة الذهبية خلال الحوار، وقال: “أشعر بالفرح والفخر، لدي ذكريات كثيرة، لا توجد جائزة فردية أفضل من الكرة الذهبية، لا يمكن شراؤها، هذه المرة أصبحت ملكي، كان شعور بالجنون لأنني ذهبت وحصلت عليها بنفسي”.

وأضاف: “لم أتخيل نفسي معتزلًا بدون الكرة الذهبية، لقد بذلت قصارى جهدي، كان يجب أن اقترب والتقطها بنفسي، طالما حصلت عليها، فأنت كتبت التاريخ في كرة القدم، لقد كان حلم أمي الدائم، كانت تخبرني بأنني الأفضل وسأفوز بها، لذلك سأنام وهي بين أحضاني لأتذكر أحلامي مثل فتى صغير، لقد كبر الفتى مع كرة جلدية صغيرة لتصبح كرة ذهبية، شيء ساحر جدًا”.

وتابع: “الحصول على الكرة الذهبية لا يضاهيه أي شعور آخر، لقب فردي لكنه بصبغة جماعية بفضل زملائي وجماهير ريال مدريد التي تدعمني، الفوز بالبالون دور بعد زين الدين زيدان أمر خاص ومميز ومذهل، لطالما اعتبره أخي ومثلي الأعلى مع رونالدو (الظاهرة) لذلك أحاول أن أفعل كل شيء بشكل صحيح كما كان كريستيانو رونالدو وليونيل ميسي”.

وبسؤاله “هل فوزك بالكرة الذهبية يعد انتقامًا بعد كل تلك السنوات الماضية؟”، أجاب: “لا ليس كذلك، لقد كنت مرشحًا منذ عام 2008، لكن في النهاية، كنت بعيدًا جدًا كما كان في العام الماضي، لقد كنت في المركز الرابع، لذلك تدربت أكثر لكن لا اعتبره انتقامًا كل ذلك جاء بالعمل الجاد، لأنك إذا خسرت فهذا لأنك لم تبلي بلاءً حسنًا، فأنت لا تحترم ناديك، يجب أن تعترف بالهزيمة لأنك تعرف السبب على الأقل”.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by French media outlet RMC Sport (via the Daily Mail), who claim that both West Ham and Crystal Palace have made an approach to Olympique de Marseille regarding a deal to sign the centre-forward this month.

The report goes on to state that the Ligue 1 side are now in a position where they have to sell in order to balance their books, and could let the 21-year-old leave the club for a fee of just €10m (£8m) in the current market.

The next Drogba

With a new centre-forward very much being a priority for David Moyes over the remainder of the January transfer window, the news that Dieng looks as if he will be available for such a small fee this winter is sure to have intrigued the 58-year-old Hammers manager.

And, it is clear to see why the Scot would be interested in a deal to sign the Senegal international this month, not only because West Ham’s only current senior centre-forward is Michail Antonio, but also because the 21-year-old is clearly a player who boasts a remarkable amount of potential for the future.

Indeed, over his 14 Ligue 1 outings this season – only seven of which have come as starts – the £7.2m-rated hitman has already scored four goals and created one big chance for his teammates, in addition to taking an average of 1.5 shots per game and finding the back of the net every 136 minutes of football played.

These returns have led to the player who Jorge Sampaoli dubbed “explosive” receiving some extremely high praise, none less so than from El Hadji Diouf, who stated of Dieng: “He’s a striker, a Didier Drogba. All he can do is score goals. He is a young person with a future. All I have to say is keep his head on his shoulders, keep working. He is an attacker who ends up in the box.”

As such, it would appear as if a move for the 21-year-old would be a very wise move for Moyes to make in the coming days, as, should Dieng continue his current rate of development following a switch to the London Stadium, the Hammers could very well have the next Drogba on their hands.
